Queen City Market 2018 Applications are closed.
We're currently not accepting applications for the 2018 Queen City Market. We'll start accepting applications sometime this summer. In the spirit of continuing to help small and undiscovered artists gain exposure, there are no guaranteed spots regardless of past participation. Thank you for your interest in the Queen City Market!
QUEEN CITY MARKET POLICIES
Below are the Queen City Market policies, dated August 1, 2017.
The Queen City Market does not charge a fee to apply.
There is a $75 table fee for each vendor. If accepted, payment is due by October 13, 2017. Payments are to be made via an invoice we send you via paypal.com. You do not need a PayPal account to use PayPal.
The 2017 Queen City Market will be held on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 at Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum, Buffalo NY, Buffalo New York, from 11am-5pm.
The Queen City Market is a juried market and vendors are selected based on product quality and section availability.
An 8'x30" table and chairs will be provided for vendors.
No extra tables are allowed.
Your table is your space, so please work with what you have and please respect the space of the people around you.
No hanging or drilling on any surface in the museum.
Vendors can only bring and sell original work or vintage (20+ years old) items shown or described in their Queen City Market Application.
Vendors must remain set up at their table until the close of the Queen City Market. If something comes up, please contact us prior to the show so we can work something out.
Factory produced goods are prohibited from the Queen City Market.
No music is allowed at the tables.
Splitting a table with another vendor: If you plan to split a table with another vendor, you must let us know by November 1, 2017. There are certain regulations that we have to follow, so please send us a quick note so we can approve the new vendor.
In order to sell food at the Queen City Market, vendors must have a certificate with the Health Department saying they are permitted to sell food. Vendors should contact the NYS Department of Agriculture & Markets, if they haven't done so already. This is for consumer safety of both the vendor and the buyers. Please let us know if you are registered and let us know if you have any questions. Only the vendors that have already cleared it with us are allowed to sell food/beverages. NYS law requires all food vendors to have proper permits in order to sell food at the Queen City Market. Those vendors will need to provide proper documentation, which they can just keep on hand at their table.
No commissions on artist's sales will be retained by Queen City Market or Karpeles Manuscript Library. However, all participating artists are responsible for collecting and paying the appropriate New York State Sales tax on all items sold. By agreeing to be a vendor, you acknowledge that you have been made aware of this and cannot hold the organizers of the Queen City Market, Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum, or any of the market’s sponsors responsible should you be found in transgression of this procedure. If for some reason you can’t attend the event, please let us know by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Table fees are nonrefundable 4 weeks before the market.
The Queen City Market, Karpeles Manuscript Library, and their sponsors shall not be responsible for or liable to vendors for any loss, damage, injury that may result to vendors or their property from any source or any cause whatsoever. The vendor hereby releases and waives any claims against the Queen City Market related to such loss, damage, liability, injury, and/or destruction.
The Queen City Market reserves the right to decline, reject, and prohibit any applicant for any reason whatsoever. The Queen City Market does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operation.
